Why Is My Discord Font Not Working?
Almost every report of “the font is not working” on Discord turns out to be one of five things, and four of them are not faults at all. Working through them in order takes about a minute and identifies the cause without any guesswork.
The two that catch most people are the composer preview and the username field. Discord often renders what you paste into the message box in its default interface font while you are still typing, and the unique username field accepts only plain characters — both look exactly like a generator that failed.
The remaining causes are real but rarer: a device missing glyphs for the character block you chose, a style that never had a mapping for some of your letters, and pasting into a field that does not accept Unicode at all.

Display names and server nicknames accept Unicode. The unique username field does not — it allows only letters, digits, periods and underscores, and will reject or normalise anything else you paste in.

Some styles have no mapping for every letter: subscript covers seventeen letters, and superscript has no q at all. If a few characters look normal while the rest changed, that is the cause rather than a bug.

Older Android builds and stripped-down system fonts sometimes lack glyphs for the mathematical alphanumeric characters, which show up as empty boxes. Test the same text on another device to confirm before changing anything.

Why does Discord remove my font when I save?
