Big Text for Discord
You cannot make Discord render text at a larger point size — not in a message, not in a nickname. What you can do is use characters that occupy more space, and Unicode has several sets of them: fullwidth letters, squared letters, circled letters and regional indicators.
Fullwidth is the closest thing to genuinely bigger text. Each character is drawn at the width of a CJK ideograph, roughly twice a normal Latin letter, so a word in fullwidth takes about double the horizontal room and reads as markedly larger. It is the usual choice for headings and for names that need to stand out in a member list.
Squared and circled letters do something different: they keep the normal width but wrap each character in a box or a circle, which raises the apparent size without changing the spacing. Regional Indicator is the odd one out — it exists so that pairs of letters can form flag emoji, and on its own it renders as boxed capital letters.

How to use it

Type your text
Enter the word or phrase you want to enlarge. Fullwidth roughly doubles the line width, so keep an eye on how a long name behaves in the preview.

Pick a style
Fullwidth for maximum size, Squared and Squared Black for boxed letters, Circled and Circled Black for bubbles. Regional Indicator gives the boxed look with flag semantics attached.

Copy and paste
Hit Copy and paste with Ctrl+V or Cmd+V. A very wide name gets truncated in narrow columns such as the member list, so check it there before you commit to it.

How do I make text bigger in Discord?
There is no font-size setting, so the workaround is characters that occupy more space. Fullwidth letters are about twice the width of normal ones and are the closest equivalent to a larger font; squared and circled letters add bulk without extra width.
Can I change the Discord font size?
Only for the whole app, under Appearance → Chat Font Scaling, which changes how large the interface draws messages. It affects what you see and not what anyone else sees, and it cannot be applied to a single message or name.
Why does my long fullwidth name get cut off?
Fullwidth characters take roughly twice the horizontal space, so a name that just fits in normal letters overflows once it is doubled. Nothing is broken — the column has simply run out of room. Shorten the name or switch to a narrower style.
Will big text still work in a Discord username?
Display names and nicknames accept it. The unique username field is far stricter and tends to reject or normalise unusual characters, so leave that one plain and put the styled version in your display name instead.
