Squared Text Generator

Squared text puts each character inside a box instead of a circle. The block is called Squared Latin Capital Letters, and the name is the whole story β€” it has capitals and nothing else, so lowercase input is folded onto the capital form rather than left half-styled.

The two variants differ only in fill. Squared is the outline, πŸ„°, which reads like a stamp or a label. Squared Black is the solid box with the letter knocked out of it, πŸ…°, which is far more visible at small sizes and holds up better against a photo or a coloured background. Neither is decorative in the way a frame or an ornament is; both are plain and legible.

Where squared text earns its place is in short strings. A box is a heavy mark, and a full sentence in boxes reads as a wall of blocks rather than as words. A three or four character handle, a team tag, a scoreboard entry β€” that is the length at which the style looks deliberate instead of shouty.

How to use it

  1. 01

    Type the text to box

Enter a short word, a handle or a tag. Squared characters are wide and boxed, so three to six characters is the range where the result still reads as a word.

  2. 02

    Choose outline or filled

Squared is the outline form and Squared Black is the filled one. Outline sits better in a list of ordinary names; filled is the one that survives a busy background.

  3. 03

    Copy and paste

Hit Copy and paste with Ctrl+V or Cmd+V into a Discord display name, a game tag, a server name or a bio. Every character is plain Unicode, so it pastes anywhere text is accepted.

Frequently asked questions

What are squared letters?

They are the characters from the Unicode block named Squared Latin Capital Letters, where each letter sits inside an outline box β€” πŸ„° for A, πŸ„± for B. A second block, Negative Squared, provides the same shapes filled in. Both are on this page.

Why does squared text come out in capitals?

Because Unicode never added lowercase squared glyphs. The block covers A to Z in capitals only. Rather than leave part of a mixed-case word in plain text, the generator maps lowercase letters onto their boxed capitals so the whole run stays uniform.

Do squared characters work in a Discord nickname?

Yes. They are ordinary Unicode symbols and Discord accepts them in display names, server nicknames, server names and messages. Each boxed character counts as one character towards the thirty-two character nickname limit.

Why do squared letters show up as empty boxes on my phone?

The boxed blocks sit in a supplementary Unicode plane that older system fonts do not always cover. On a device without the glyphs the characters render as missing-glyph placeholders. The text itself is intact, and it displays correctly on a device that has them.
