Circled Text Generator
Circled text comes from a Unicode block called Enclosed Alphanumerics, and it is the most complete of the enclosed sets: capitals, lowercase and the digits nought to nine all exist. That completeness is what makes it hold up across a whole sentence, where a block with capitals only starts to look like shouting.
There are three variants here. Circled is the thin outline, with Ⓐ for capitals and ⓐ for lowercase kept apart. Black Circled is the filled form, 🅐, and it has capitals only — lowercase input is folded onto the capital so a mixed-case run stays visually even instead of breaking in the middle. Parenthesised brackets each character, ⒜, and is the quietest of the three.
Two things worth knowing before you paste. Circled characters are wider than the letters they replace, so a long string takes noticeably more room in a fixed field such as a scoreboard or a tag. And the digits being covered by the two circled forms, where most enclosed blocks stop at letters, is what makes the style usable for dates, scores and counts rather than names alone.

How to use it
- 01
Type your text
Enter the word, name or phrase you want enclosed. Digits convert in the two circled forms; punctuation and spaces pass through untouched in all three.
- 02
Pick a circle style
Circled keeps capitals and lowercase distinct, Black Circled is the filled form and offers capitals only, and Parenthesised is the subtlest of the three.
- 03
Copy and paste it
Hit Copy and paste with Ctrl+V or Cmd+V into a Discord display name, an Instagram bio, a post or a document. It is ordinary Unicode text, so it survives being forwarded or copied again.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get circled letters?
Type into the generator above and choose Circled. Each character is swapped for its enclosed counterpart from the Enclosed Alphanumerics block, so Ⓐ replaces A and ⓐ replaces a. The swap is one character for one character, which means the text keeps its length.
Why do my lowercase letters turn into capitals?
Black Circled belongs to a Unicode block that was only ever given capital glyphs. Rather than leave half a mixed-case word unstyled, the generator folds lowercase onto the capital form, so every letter comes out enclosed. Circled and Parenthesised keep the two cases apart.
Do circled letters work in a Discord nickname?
Yes. They are standard Unicode symbols and Discord accepts them in display names, server nicknames and messages. Each enclosed character counts as one character against the thirty-two character nickname limit, even though it renders wider than the plain letter it replaced.
Are circled numbers included?
Yes, and that sets this block apart from the squared ones. Nought to nine are covered in both the outline and the filled form, so dates, scores and counts can be enclosed along with the letters around them.
