Vaporwave Text Generator

Vaporwave text is one specific thing rather than a mood: ordinary characters pushed into their fullwidth forms. The letterforms barely change — what changes is the width, because each character now takes up the space of an ideograph. That is where the slow, spaced-out look comes from, and it is why the style travels intact into any app you paste it into.

The frames are the second half of the look. A sparkle border or a star border around a fullwidth phrase is the combination most people picture when they say vaporwave. Unlike the usual case of decorative letters inside a decorative border, these two do not compete, because fullwidth letters are still plain readable shapes — the ornament is the only thing actually competing for attention.

Two things to check before you commit. Fullwidth text roughly doubles the width of the string, so a phrase that only just fits a bio or a nickname will not fit afterwards. And fullwidth punctuation is included, so commas, question marks and apostrophes widen along with the letters — which is what keeps a sentence looking consistent rather than half-converted.

How to use it

  1. 01

    Type your text

Enter the phrase, name or caption you want widened. Letters, digits and punctuation all have fullwidth forms, so a whole sentence converts cleanly.

  2. 02

Choose letters, a frame, or both

Fullwidth on its own is the plainest vaporwave look. Sparkle Frame and Star Frame leave the letters alone and add a border instead. Using both is the classic result.

  3. 03

    Copy and paste

Hit Copy and paste with Ctrl+V or Cmd+V into an Instagram caption, a TikTok bio, a Discord name or a video title. It is ordinary Unicode text and pastes anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

What is vaporwave text?

It is text written in fullwidth Unicode characters — the forms East Asian typography uses to make Latin letters the same width as ideographs. The letters keep their usual shapes but take up about twice the space, which produces the wide, unhurried look the aesthetic is built on.

Why is vaporwave text so wide?

Because every character is the width of a full ideograph rather than of a Latin letter. The width is a property of the characters themselves, not of a font setting, so it follows the text into every app you paste it into and cannot be turned off there.

Does vaporwave text work on Instagram and Discord?

Yes. Both accept Unicode in captions, bios, display names and messages. The catch is the width rather than the characters — a caption or nickname that was already near its character limit may no longer fit, and a long phrase can push the rest of a bio out of view.

Can I turn vaporwave text back into normal text?

Only by retyping it or deleting it. The characters are genuinely different code points from the ASCII ones they resemble, so search, mentions and autocomplete will not match them against plain text. Keep a copy of the ordinary version if you may need to undo it.
